Tasty Tuesday – Fruit Pizza, A Little Slice of Heaven

I’m so glad you stopped in today for another Tasty Tuesday! You picked a great day to be here! And I’m not just giving you the berries!

This here is a Red White And Blue Ribbon Winner! Perfect for Father’s Day, 4th of July, Reunions, Grad Parties… This is the dish that once you’ve made it, forever more they will be asking you to bring it. Its Fruit Pizza! And my oh my you are gonna be drawing crowds like bees to honey! And its easy as pie!

Now my first order of business as we begin is to thank my dear friend Maribeth Schmidt for the beautiful photos! I cooked and she clicked… and wow her photos are gorgeous! If you would like to see more of her work, or for an inquiry, you can learn more at Maribeth Schmidt Photography . Lets get started!

Preheat Oven to 350

1 bar of cream cheese softened

2 tubes Pillsbury Refrigerated Sugar Cookies

1 Regular size tub of Whipped Topping

1 Large Box Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix, Milk (as according to package directions)

3-4 Bananas, Various Berries or Fruit of Your Choice

Butter or Cooking Spray

Large Cookie Sheet

This gorgeous dessert has basically 3 layers, and uses either a traditional round pizza pan or a large rectangular cookie sheet (which I always use as bigger is better with a recipe this amazing!).

Cookie Crust Layer: As oven preheats, use butter or cooking spray to grease a large cookie sheet. Slice cookie dough approximately 1/3 inch thick and arrange on cookie sheet so the cookie slices are not touching, but will grow together during baking. I used 4 slices across, and 6 slices down on my cookie sheet. Should use about 1 1/2 of your cookie dough rolls.  Bake at 350 until cookies appear a light golden color with maybe just a hint of brown on the edges. Allow it to cool.

Cheesecake Layer: In medium bowl, with mixer, prepare vanilla pudding with milk according to package directions. Add in the bar of softened cream cheese and blend until smooth. Now spread over the cookie crust layer evenly using a rubber spatula. Note you could use sugar free pudding and light cream cheese if you want to go a little lower in calories.

Bananas: Slice and arrange bananas on the cheesecake layer (bananas can turn brown quickly so I nestle them in on this layer).

Whipped Topping: Use the whipped topping of your choice, and spread a lovely, fluffy layer over the top of the bananas. I’m a Cool Whip girl, and proud of it, so that is my choice, but any will do! You can also use the light varieties as well if you want to spare a few calories.

Fruit Layer: Now its time to add your beautiful fruit! I typically use blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries (sliced). You could also do kiwi, star fruit, any other beautiful fruit you like on top of your luscious dessert! Be creative or be random… you cannot fail, I promise you! I usually start with the black berries and try to evenly disperse them around the dessert and then move to raspberries, then strawberries, then blueberries. I buy a small container of each, and slice the strawberries. Have fun with this, and imagine the smiles on your loved ones’ faces as they see how you’ve lavished them with this dessert!

You will need to make space in your fridge until you are ready to serve it. I always make it the same day I am serving it so its at its freshest.

Pardon me while I drool on my laptop… sorry about that, I couldn’t help myself!

Use a good knife when you cut it to get through the cookie layer.

You can do this, its easy as pie!

And your dear guests will be simply dazzled!

And with every creamy and delicious bite they will know you love them! And you will be incredibly blessed knowing

you just served them a Little Slice of Heaven!

I hope you love this recipe as much as we do! I hope it brings smiles and enhances your special occasions this summer and down through the years! You and your precious friends and families are so worth celebrating with such a beautiful and delicious dessert! Each berry on your dessert is like the sweet treasures of life, love, friends and family! When your guests see this, it will make them say “Oh!” and in that moment, they will know that sweet feeling of being completely lavished and indulged!  I know this is dripping with honey, but trust me they will feel the love!

If you enjoyed this recipe, I would be so honored if you would share it with others and like or subscribe to my blog.

I will be back this Friday for another Fashion Friday! Thank you so much for joining me today!

Love Always,

Amy
