Tasty Tuesday and Crowd Pleasing Treats for the Big Game

Welcome to another Tasty Tuesday! And this weekend is Super Bowl Weekend!

I wanted to give you some festive treats that might be some choices you would enjoy for the Super Bowl or any fun gathering of friends and loved ones! Honestly, there are some great choices if you look back over the past year. If you click on the “Food” tab at the top of this page, it pulls all of the recipes. It seems in my house we enjoy lots of choices that would also make great dishes to serve while watching the big game! Or any other time you have guests over! I pulled 3 that seemed like a great fit, but there are lots of other choices too. My test was my husband. I showed him this lineup and asked “What do you think of these choices for the Super Bowl?”  There was an immediate eye popping “Yes!” look in his eye, and so I think we have a winning combo!

But before we begin, I want to thank my very good friend Maribeth Schmidt for these photos. I have such wonderful memories of working with her on these various photo sessions. Its such a delight to watch her work! She is such an artist! When I am shopping produce in the store, I often think “Which one would Maribeth pick for photographing?” I’ve shopped with her before, and its really fun to watch such a creative soul pick out the exact tomato or lemon for the perfect picture! Now I enter the produce department with a whole new perspective! It is an honor to showcase her incredible work on my blog, and an even greater honor to call her my friend! If you would like to see more of her work, or for an inquiry, you can contact her at Maribeth Schmidt Photography. Thank you, Maribeth!

The first recipe I showcase this week was one I put in the blog last July, a guacamole recipe I shared that came from my friend, Anita Weldon. You can find that recipe here: Guacamole That Will Guac Your World!

It is so fresh tasting, so delicious and extremely easy to make! You will never buy pre-made guac again once you see how easy and delicious it is!

It is Guacamole Perfection! And it can be your easy go to from now on!

Don’t miss it! Get your family in on making it! Its fun! And easy! Train your kids so they can make it too! That’s a gift that will keep on giving for generations!

Score for the home team!

Next, I am including a hot and hearty chili recipe. This is one I had posted in November, and you can find it here: Friendship Chili, The Frito Dish.

Doesn’t this look tempting? It really is! And scooping it with those giant Fritos make it over the moon!

Quick! Grab a spoon! Or a Frito! That’ll work!

Or just pile it up like nachos!

Friendship Chili! Touchdown!

And finally, how can you go wrong with a really good chocolate chip cookie? Its a winner every time!  You can find this recipe at: Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

A cup of coffee…

A glass of icy cold milk…

All day long.

Winning!

I was thinking how in most great recipes, there is a key ingredient, a flagship ingredient if you will that gives the recipe that extra somethin’ somethin’. The bell ringer. In the guacamole, for me its the lemon juice. It screams “Fresh and Fantastic!” And it makes me just think how good this guacamole really is!

Well, in life, that is a lot like those cheerleaders we meet along the way who make you stop and begin to believe in yourself again! That you hold the keys, the potential to an amazing life! Its not beyond you, its in your grasp! Its like a great coach to a Super Bowl team! You have the power to be that inspiring person to others! A confident look in your eye and a smile and pep talk, and you can be the game changer in someone’s life that takes them that little bit further, and just a few inches more can make all the difference on the scoreboard! And how fulfilling to be the one that nudges the person who needs just a little boost and it changes everything for them! People are worth that pep talk, that confidence building investment… and the cool thing is, that its great fuel in the furnace no matter how old you are! The youngest need it, the oldest need it, and everyone in between. This is as true for the guy or gal who has been on a winning streak in life as for the one waiting for their first victory. Encouragement is just good fuel! Starting with the man or woman in the mirror! Its always a worthy investment! You can be coach of the year! And that is what I call “Winning!”

I hope you have a great week! I will be back Friday for another Fashion Friday!

Love Always,

Amy

  1. As usual I want to try at least one of the recipes. And on this post, I am especially moved by your encouraging us to encourage others. Words so very true and motivating. I copied some of your words and sent them to friends via email. Thank you.

    1. Susan, thank you so much for the affirmation, and I know for a fact you have been the inspiration to countless ones over the years, building them up, walking beside them, laughing with them and crying with them, no matter how rough the road has gotten. You are a confidence whisperer! And its one reason I am so very grateful to have you in my life 🙂

  2. You had me at guacamole! And those photos are stunning. Felt like I could almost steal a couple of cookies from the plate. Almost. Boo hoo!
