Fashion Friday and A Summer’s Day

Hi Friends! I’m so glad the weekend is finally here! It’s been quite a busy week in our house!  So much going on as I’m sure is the case with you too!

This week, my husband took the photos for the blog and I thank you, Troy for helping me out so graciously!

So I’ve continued this week finding fashions that are great pieces for transitioning to fall. I love the autumn colors so I’ve been searching for pieces that will work for August and September heat but still work as the season changes. This first piece is a printed floral tee from Anthropologie, and a long open cardigan in olive green from Target.

I love the colors in this tee. Its a gray background and it has rusty red and gold flowers with dark green leaves and even a little purple. It’s really a stunningly beautiful pattern. Rich beautiful autumn shades!

And this olive cardigan is so soft and comfortable, and at only $25.99, its going to be a great addition to a fall wardrobe!

Next I have a really great top from Stella & Dot, The Ren Slouchy Knit Top.

It is cut at an angle around the bottom, and the fabric is a silver with a little sparkle to it.

In the photo below I am wearing a new statement necklace from Stella & Dot with hand embroidered beads, the Emma Necklace.

The necklace is so lightweight and yet it’s absolutely stunning! I’m also wearing the matching Emma Triple Wrap Bracelet.

My faithful sidekick, Kasey looking sophisticated!

And finally, I have a cheerful little top, The Road-Trip Flutter Sleeve Tee in Maize, from Anthropologie.

My bag is older but here is one that is similar and adorable by Urban Originals.

My necklace is a mix of a couple of pieces from Stella & Dot. The necklace is the Color Pop Versatile Pendant, but I added that larger circle from a set of earrings, the Color Pop Interchangeable Earring set that you can shift around pieces and colors. They offer leather “charms” in bright colors on both sides that can be used to create really fun earrings or a necklace. I am just learning different options you can make from it. It’s really fun to play with!

It was beginning to rain so we only were able to get a few shots outside, that is what keeps it so green outside!

Isn’t there just something so special about summer? It feels like such a blessing every day, like you are in a continued state of being light hearted! I think its because we get to be outside so much and all of nature and the fresh air just lifts your spirits.

We spent some time with my parents this week, and my dad was saying how he just loves to sit on his deck out back and enjoy gazing at the trees and the skyline! He said he could sit out there for hours. He is savoring what he knows is so special!

And I feel the same way. It’s really like a delicious treat to the senses! You hear the crickets and frogs, the rustling of leaves, and song birds! You smell the leaves and flowers and wet grass. You feel the warmth wrap around you like a blanket of sun kissed flowers. And you see the blue sky, the golden sunshine, and rich green grass and leaves. Summer always leaves us just a little too soon. What a wonder to have such a love in your heart for a season, for it brings dapple sunshine and such a peaceful feeling of utter relaxation! And yet even though we will miss these golden days, we know what is next on the horizon, autumn splendor! And you know what makes something as lovely as summer even better? Sharing it with someone as special as you! What a blessing it is to live on this beautiful planet together!

I hope you continue to enjoy every last drop of summer! I wish you a wonderful weekend!

I’ll be back Tuesday with another Tasty Tuesday!

Love Always,

Amy

  1. Beautiful colors and beautiful post Amy. I loved how you described summer. When my boys were little we lived on a farm, and my youngest would say, “the froggies sing to me each night Mommy”…that is summer to me 🙂

  2. You just “sparkle” in your top for Stella & Dot. There is something about sitting on the back porch and listing to the crickets and frogs that is soothing.
