Fashion, Friends and Fun!

Hi friends!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  We are enjoying a beautiful August here in Michigan, and spending as much time as possible outdoors having fun!

Our Facebook exercise group, The Sizzlers Challenge is going fantastic! It’s a group for women and we encourage each other to include more intentional exercise in our daily lives. We share when we get some exercise in and cheer each other on. It sounds simple but it really works. And it’s Free! No strings! Any exercise counts whether it’s walking or running or gardening- if it gets you moving, it’s good!

If you would like to check out our Facebook exercise group we’d love to have you! Please click here: Sizzler Challenge

This week I have the pleasure of sharing with you all of the fun and wonderful finds we made last weekend on a shopping trip with my sister Stacey and Larissa, visiting from Germany. I was definitely in my happy place! I had lots of self control but took lots of fun pictures to share! I don’t know about you but I get really excited about fall fashion!

Our first stop was an adorable boutique in downtown Plymouth, Michigan. They make everyone feel welcome and so special! The shop is called, Bella Mia.

So many cute things!

Larissa found some lovely things to try on. She tried on this adorable dress.

Below, the striped sweater was so soft and light weight it will be perfect for fall. The trousers, the clerk explained are a style called “paper bag trousers” and are an updated silhouette for 2019. They are a super flattering fit. It’s a high waisted pant that sits just above your belly button and comes with a belt that pulls in at the waist. The leg is a cool loose fit, and it has an easy chic style to it.

She also tried on these cute camouflage overalls.

And this beautiful neutral sweater with a woven detail on the sleeve.

Larissa was looking for some pieces to wear to work. She ended up purchasing the two sweaters and the caramel colored slacks.

We hopped in the car and headed to 12 Oaks Mall in Novi, Mi.  First stop, Nordstrom!

They had so many lovely  transitional pieces for fall! Rich Autumn hues in rust, mustard yellow and army green.

And animal print in every department!

We ventured into the mall, first stop, the Kendra Scott store!

Kendra Scott sells beautiful fashion jewelry.

I love pretty necklaces and they have some beautiful pieces! I was “just looking” but had a blast doing it!

Next we wandered into the Kate Spade store. Oh my stars I had to have so much self-control!  The clerk who was waiting on us told us Her favorite bag in the store right now is the Romy bag, burgundy one below. As soon as she said that it was as though a beam of light shone down upon it! Swoon!

Check out these little bags, how cute!

Notice the little spade/heart clasp on this dark cherry snakeskin bag. Here it is in the closed position.

And to open the bag, you turn the heart upside down… I think it is so adorable!

This next bag which Larissa is holding is called the Sam. The sales associate in the store said it is the most iconic Kate Spade design.

What do you do when you love them all? Wait! Silly me!  I am just window shopping! Our next shop was even more tempting, Evereve. Friends, this is my Kryptonite! It makes my knees buckle!

My sister Stacey bravely offered to try some things on-  I didn’t trust myself to try anything on because I might have to buy it! And on this day, I was simply “window shopping”. She knows I love statement tees- isn’t this a great one?

I love kimonos too!  This one in animal print has long enough pieces of fabric to knot on the sides, isn’t it adorable?

And check out the gorgeous colors on this one!

Larissa tried on this stylish longer plaid jacket, statement tee, and adorable jeans.

Stacey tried this amazing animal print moto that fits her perfectly!

And I love this autumn cardigan, which was surprisingly light weight which is perfect for the beginning of fall! Doesn’t she look pretty?

And I loved this animal print blazer as well, especially with the black top underneath, so sophisticated!

And isn’t this animal print blouse gorgeous on her?

She found a few keepers that came home with her, and a few she longingly put back on the rack to think about for another day maybe.

Our last stop of the day was the Vera Bradley store.

Stacey does a lot of traveling, and she had seen a piece that she really liked and wanted to check it out.  Is that not the happiest little bag you ever saw? That was her prize of the day!

My prize of the day was just being with these two beautiful young ladies! We had so much fun! But Larissa had a plane to catch back to Germany!

So we packed our purchases and headed back towards the car, with a day full of fantastic memories!

And I couldn’t wait to share these pretty pictures with you! There is nothing like seeing someone’s face light up when they try something on they feel really good about themselves in. Or when they do something they are really proud of! I remember one time at one of Jake’s baseball games he got a double play, everything went perfect! And the smile on his face lit the whole baseball field up! Or when you get that last flower planted and you know your yard looks fantastic! You are just beaming!

It is as though you get a little glimpse into what the rest of us knew about you all along, and that is that you are awesome! Not because of accomplishments or outfits or anything on the outside, but for who you are on the inside- the real you! You are one of a kind, with important thoughts and ideas, and those things that make your heart sing, or the things you are passionate about, those were put there by the One who created you. And He is just crazy about you every single day! Face it, you really are amazing indeed!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I’ll be back Tuesday for another Tasty Tuesday!

Love Always,

Amy

      1. I don’t think there is an Evereve around here. We’ll have to go the next time I’m in town. You all look fab! Shopping is fun, even window shopping!

        1. I agree! Evereve is slowly adding stores around the country. We have a few here In Michigan. Cute stuff, and the clerks are pros at bringing you lots of pieces to try together

  2. Such an amazing, fun day! I rarely go shopping anymore, I do it mostly online. But I need to grab a friend or my daughter and go! Although I don’t know if I could show the restraint that you did – I love, love, love some of these pieces. My favorites are the heart/spade purse and the snakeskin booties. Wish we had an Evereve nearby so I could see and touch the pieces in person.
Anyway, I’m so happy for you for your excellent window shopping day!

  3. Spending the day with you and Larissa was so much fun. It felt like old times again! So happy you were able to walk the mall and share the joy. The fall clothes are great this year. I agree, the Evereve girls are great at putting it all together.

  4. So glad you had a fun shopping day! I also love fashion and am looking forward to shopping for some fall clothes here in Tbilisi, or maybe in nearby Armenia. I have my eye on a pair of leopard print pumps from Geox. The reason I go for comfortable but still cute is that we walk everywhere. They have to be a heel that I can walk in. Enjoyed your post Amy. see you next time.

  5. Amy,

What a wonderful post featuring your sister Stacey and Larissa!
I enjoy peeking into your life in Michigan!
Yes, fall fashion is in the stores now and I can’t even think about wearing a sweater in Atlanta yet!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  8. Amy, the top part of my comment above somehow got deleted. The full message should have read, “You stopped me at that Kate Spade store. Oh how I treasure my Kate Spade purse and pretty tableware.  Swooning over these goodies!” 💓💓
