Hi Friends! It’s the Weekend! Yes! I hope you had a good week! Back to work after the holidays, ready to embrace a brand new year!
I’m so thankful for the help of my son Jacob Kennedy with my photography. I snapped this picture of him with my cell phone yesterday as we were finishing up and packing up to go home. He loves that hat because his brother gave it to him. I love that.
He has so many great ideas about how to use light and interesting backdrops. It has been really fun to be on this journey together! If you would like to follow Jacob on Instagram, you can find him @jacob.kennedy21.
Our exercise group is growing and thriving! If you haven’t heard, I am part of an online Facebook Group, called Sizzlers Challenge.

Wow! There are some seriously good deals out there!
And now on to some fashion fun!
I shared a pic of this coat recently but didn’t share any of the details on it. I really like this coat! It’s the Longline Camel Coat by Something Navy at Nordstrom, 40% off, only $106.90!
Below, Jake is practicing “Dutch Angle” photography… it’s a thing! Who knew?
Above and below you can see the chunky color block scarf I am sharing, simply showing it so you can see the colors on the opposite ends of the scarf. It’s the Trouve Color Block Scarf and it’s 40% off, only $23.40! That is a keeper! Don’t miss it!
Next I have a sweater coat. I saw this and wanted to try it. It is super warm, almost like a coat.
Online it was shown with a light blue denim shirt. I liked it that way and I also like it with the black. It has this incredible texture that gives it a vintage look. And side slit pockets. I love pockets. And a notched lapel that makes it feel more coat than sweater.
Looking at these pictures I might have been able to size down. It was about 25° F when we took these, and this did keep me surprisingly warm! I should have had on a scarf and gloves though!
Next I am sharing a Helene Berman coat in red. It has soft shoulders and a wide collar.
Sort of a menswear look to it, it did keep me warm! I chose a black and white houndstooth scarf (older) to wear with it, Here is one from Macy’s that is similar with a little red in it, on sale for $15.99 use code BIG.
And finally, here is another coat from Something Navy at Nordstrom. Something Navy has got it going on in my opinion! This is the Long Feminine Coat.
Yes it sure is long! I’m about 5′ 5″, I originally tried it on with a 1″ heel, and switched to a 3″ heel. It kind of reminds me of “olden days”! It has notched lapels and a feminine chic silhouette! The fabric is a polyester and rayon blend so it gives it a contemporary feel.
I am loving this handbag by Urban Originals, Vegan Leather Tote. The cross body strap is removable.
Jake thought I looked a little like a gangster in all black, but I have to admit, it felt pretty classy! I don’t do all black that often. The long coat is really fun to wear, though if it was slushy it would probably get pretty dirty pretty quickl
Well, I have been thinking about the New Year’s Resolutions some more, and you know how some people choose a single word to capture a spirit they want to embrace for the coming year?
Well I have picked mine! Adventure!
I absolutely love how it feels when you go on an adventure! Whether it’s a new interest or a trip or trying something that takes you out of the ordinary! I don’t know… I like that word so much it might be a lifer thing for me!
My son Jake took me to a gym this past week. He began to teach me some of the beginning things for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). He knows I never want to hit anyone (or have them hit me either for that matter, Hah!). I will be sharing more on that in upcoming posts!
And I had been interested for some time now in taking up hiking. I walk a couple miles every day so I thought this would be a fun thing to try! So I am leaving within the hour for a hike today with a group of ladies up north. It’s going to be quite cold so I am gearing up! I hope to be sharing about that next week!
Just the thought of trying something totally new is so exhilarating! To think that new things are on the horizon just breathes new life into your mind and heart and soul and body! And why not? Sometimes we can sink into a routine and think that is it. But it doesn’t have to be! And it is so liberating to bust out of the mold and think new possibilities for your life! I invited you to do the same! What is something you have never ever done but always found fascinating? Well what is stopping you or me? Maybe a little fear of the unknown! But if we fall down, we just get back up! As I’ve said before, there is no expiration date on our dreams! And it’s time to get out there and live! I sure hope you will join me!
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
I’ll be back Tuesday for another Tasty Tuesday!
Love Always,
Amy

I love the red one on you. And that real long one is very cool. Have a lovely weekend, Amy!
Thank you, Susan! I loved both of those, too! I hope you have a fantastic weekend as well!
Lobe that long femine coat. Looks great on you.
Thank you so much! It’s a first for me to try something like this, and I really loved it! It’s just fun to try different things!
It’s not easy to put a fashionable outfit together sometimes. We took our son to a rock concert recently and I had to look somewhat cool, Lol! Riding boots, jeans, black shirt, cardigan and plaid scarf was the best I could do without shopping. I don’t put in the time to shop and struggle with trying things on not being the size I want. You encourage us to step outside our routine and try something new and make it all look lovely, stylish, and classy. Thank you. Thanks for posting sales too. Love a good sale!
Goodness gracious! Thank you for the kind words! How fun to go to a concert! Yes, I have to push myself out there too! But it is fun! Sometime it works, and sometimes maybe not. But its fun trying!
Amy… I love all of your coats. Last year I nabbed a couple of jackets in the after-Christmas sales. Doesn’t look like Michigan has any snow. We’ve been pretty lucky here in Mass. – no snow yet. How nice to have an accomplished photographer in the family. Enjoy your week.
Hi Katie! Yes the sales are really fantastic this year! That is how I get most of my items as well! No big amounts of snow yet, though I heard they were getting quite a bit just south of us between yesterday and today. Yes, I love having a photographer in the family!
Have a great week!
I can’t possibly choose a favorite. You look lovely in your cozy long coats and that colorful scarf, is absolutely scrumptious. Well done you and Jacob!
XoXo,
Jonet
Thank you, Jonet! And the best part is going on these excursions with Jacob! Really a treat!
the long black coat is so sleek and stylish, you look like a movie star in it!! I love how you are listing all the good sales, I need to plan a little shopping “adventure”!
There you go! I had fun in that coat! I may need some Louboutins to really finish it off! Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement!
I love the long coat!!! And yes… You’ll need a higher heel, but it’s fabulous! Brenda
Thank you so much! That is a fun coat! Thank you for the kind words! Have a great week!
It is great you and your son have found similar interests and work on projects together. I need one of those coats, so cold here in Portland. I was thinking of trying a new work out class too. I feel like it wakes up my body because it is new motions.
That is a great idea! I have never tried Pilates… that might be a good thing for me to consider! I love working with my son. I’m sure his paths will ultimately take him elsewhere but it is truly bliss to work with him!
I really love the coats you have chosen. I am a fan of camel as it looks so classic and stylish. Love the red coat too, colors are the way to go for me in the winter, gets you out of the doldrums, but at the same time, the long coat looks fab Amy! I love a great winter coat, it just makes you feel so put together.
