Fashion Friday and Standing at the Edge of Possibility

Hi Friends! It’s a blustery day in Michigan, and we are ready for the weekend! How about you?

We had a busy week here in the Kennedy household. I actually worked a few extra shifts at my job than I normally have, so the weekend looks pretty good to me!

I want to thank my husband Troy for his help with my photos this week. I so appreciate his patience and help with my photos. I generally like outside photos more than inside ones, but getting days that the weather cooperates is a bit tricky in winter. You would laugh at the conditions we sometimes shoot under and how we try to overcome blustery winds blowing my hair out of control! But we have a good time on our quest for places to take a nice photo!

In my exercise group, it’s been so nice for ladies that live where the weather has been warmer! Hearing about their springlike temperatures is so encouraging! And those of us in the throws of winter know it won’t last much longer!

As spring approaches, we all want to look and feel our best, and The Sizzler Challenge Exercise Group is a fabulous place to find encouragement to make time for intentional movement/exercise for women on Facebook.

It’s Free! Woohoo!

And it’s all encouraging all the time.

This week on the blog:

So this week I am sharing a cozy soft boucle coat by Halogen.  It’s a double breasted front button closure with notched collar. I love the length of it.

It’s a timeless classic boucle jacket, that wraps around you like a cozy blanket. Mine is a cocoa brown. I was surprised at how compatible the color brown was with so many other colors. Below I have it on with an ivory sweater.

The ivory sweater is from Stitch Fix, and I paired it up with a cameo necklace that came from an estate sale. How fun is that? You can see Kasey off to the side there. I also am carrying my red bag, this one by Rebecca Minkoff. I’ve used it a ton this year. Red is my go to color!

So then I tried the cocoa brown coat with light blue. And I really liked it!

The sweater is a boatneck sweater by Caslon in a soft luxe blend knit featuring wool and alpaca. It is super cozy and soft.

And then I tried it with a turtleneck that has wide stripes in navy and cognac and gray and ivory. I loved it with that! I wore darker tan booties and carried a light brown suede bag by Rebecca Minkoff.

I really liked the warm tones of the jacket with denim. I have never had a dark brown coat before.

The bag is on super sale right now, its a final sale at Rebecca Minkoff, but it’s a great deal.

It really is so much fun to try different things! I’m now really opening my mind about what I am interested in trying! Certainly in fashion, but in all sorts of things! Did I tell you I just bought my first pair of snowshoes? Truth! Oh my word it feels so good to learn new things!

It’s like my mind is free now to really rethink things I use to put in a box and say, “Well I guess that isn’t going to happen in my life”.  Nope, that negativity can just find the door. It’s like having a Ferrari but determining you will never drive over 40. Now is our time!

We have this life, and it is such a gift! I want to live it to the full! I want to live it feeling fantastic, and healthy and strong! We have been given the passions and dreams we have, and they are ours to use or to simply leave them collecting dust like old china you never take out of the cupboard. What is up with that? Why not go for it? Goodness gracious if we miss the mark, at least we will have a blast trying!  I want to live a life that is vibrant and active, and  I want to encourage others to do the same! Come on, my friend! We are standing at the edge of possibility! How can we possibly walk away?

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I’ll be back Tuesday with another Tasty Tuesday!

Love Always,

Amy

  1. Hi Amy! First of all…I totally know what you mean about pictures! Sometimes it’s so difficult to get that great shot and the wind is not great for your hair! I love your warm teddy coat! I haven’t gotten one yet but I’m not sure what I’m waiting for because it will be spring soon! Also, I do love what you wrote about standing on the edge of possibility. Anything is possible but we have to get out there and seize the opportunity. Have a great weekend!
