Recently I was contacted by Whistle River Trading, a women’s clothing company, to review some of their products and share my findings with you. As you probably have figured out, I am just a little bit particular when it comes to clothing I put on my blog. I have to love it, and I want to do business with companies that are reputable, have a fine product, and are customer driven.

I was so impressed in working with Whistle River Trading, and I have to tell you the one request they made of me. They said, “all we ask is that you give an honest assessment of our company and products.” I assure you, the opinions in this post are purely my own.

They offered to gift me two pieces of my choice to try and review. So my sister Stacey and I each selected a piece c/o Whistle River Trading. This was not easy as we both had several options we liked. We both are shopping for those transitional pieces that will take you through the fall. Stacey chose the Potomac Chenille Jacket, and I chose the Yellowstone Red Twill Jacket.

In just a few days, a lovely box came in the mail. When I opened it, it had a copy of the order, a lovely thank you card, and our order, wrapped in beautifully printed tissue paper.

Inside, the items were carefully packaged. We couldn’t wait to try them on!

Stacey tried her jacket with black slacks and a black tee.

It has a single button closure at the top, and two side pockets. The sleeves have a luxurious cuff when rolled.

The jacket is such a soft chenille, and Stacey just loves the way it fits. The pattern is delicately ornate and gorgeous with a light taupe on black  It has an elegance in tandem with an upscale casual vibe. It is 100% acrylic and is dry clean only.

You could dress it up or down, and you will look and feel fantastic in it!

I chose the red denim jacket. I love red! And I love how it looks in the fall with blue denim!

The jacket is a lightweight twill with a coordinating floral lining. I rolled the sleeves up because I like the lining showing a bit. But you could also wear the sleeves unrolled for a solid red look. The sleeves are generously long. The buttons on this are adorable, engraved with a sunshine detail. It’s the little things… I like those little details!

It has two pockets with flaps on the front chest, and two pockets below on the sides. That is good because I’m a girl who loves having pockets! It is a 100% pre-washed shell and lining, and is machine washable. This jacket is also available in black.

Stacey and I were both honestly very impressed with the quality, the style and the value of the pieces we were able to review. Here in Michigan during autumn, you can leave the house in the morning with temperatures around 50° F and you need a little extra something to stay warm. But by noon it can be pushing 75° F so it’s all about layers. We are thinking these pieces will be on repeat for the entire fall season and beyond!

I have been so struck with how nice this company is to work with. The people at Whistle River Trading are just the kind of people I like doing business with. They are ethical, gracious, they excel at customer service and they provide beautiful clothing at a very good price.

A couple of other points that are worth noting.

Whistle River Trading is a newer brand but is an extension of an established company that has been making clothing since 1996. They are one of the few companies that manufacture all of their own garments. Their clothing is made in Guatemala by artisans at a factory that has been operating for 20 years, providing competitive wages, bonuses and making a positive impact in the community. Their US headquarters is in Moundville, Alabama.

The prices are very reasonable.  Thumbs up!
